A Space to Create, Connect, and Belong
The Community Art Studio is a welcoming, inclusive creative space in Forest Row, East Sussex , dedicated to bringing people together through the power of art.
Our mission is to reduce social isolation and improve wellbeing by offering affordable, accessible, and inspiring opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to make art, learn, and connect.
We believe creativity belongs to everyone.
That’s why we offer low-cost art courses, hands-on workshops, a friendly sketchbook café, and community exhibitions where everyone — from complete beginners to experienced artists — can explore their creativity in a supportive environment.
At The Community Art Studio, there’s no pressure to be perfect.
It’s about self-expression, confidence, and connection — a place to experiment, unwind, and feel part of something positive and meaningful.

Our Story
Founded by Sinead Holly Woodnutt, an artist and qualified art therapist, The Community Art Studio grew from a deep belief in art’s ability to heal, unite, and empower.
After years of working creatively with others, Sinead wanted to create a physical space where people could meet, make, and feel seen — a home for creativity and community in equal measure.
Her own artwork — large-scale, intuitive paintings inspired by womanhood and emotional freedom — reflects the same openness and authenticity at the heart of the studio.
Every brushstroke, workshop, and conversation here is part of something bigger: a creative movement that celebrates the strength of connection.
